What are you talking about, Dex? You have plenty to say. You're a real author, after all. I'm just a marketing hack. :p

So, it's obvious that I'm not a blogger. I don't have anything to say. I swear, it's almost like putting a format to poetry or finger painting. What ever happened to pure mental spew?
So is there a term for on-line diaries? People with nothing to say that somehow say it? The Seinfeld people? Journals about nothing?

Guilty as charged.

I was appauled at my own efforts, nay efforts is not the proper word either, but total F grade in any event. I could have used the money there with my booth and put it to better use elsewhere. My problem was not enough help. I had too much going on otherwise and as a nearly one man show I kinda needed a hand. Perhaps you Rachel! Set aside the time in September next year? I'll be doing the Blog World Expo radio show with some recaps soon. Call in and let us know your thoughts.

I'm with you on the bad trade show marketing. I was struck by how unapproachable some of the booth staff was - there were a few time when I wanted to talk to people (because I thought they might be able to help me with an immediate client need) but couldn't break into the conversation between employees staffing the booth!

I see this at all shows but it was particularly bad at BlogWorld. Booth Staffing 101, folks!

I agree with almost all of your comments. As a marketer, I gave Trade Show Booth 101 lessons to a group of exhibitors who were very friendly to me. Most of the booths were anonymous other than a cute name.

The milbloggers were great for me, since that's right in my line of work.

The political bloggers' audiences were very creepy. The one session I went to had the air of a prison exercise yard right before a riot broke out.

I completely agree with having a way to contact the bloggers whose work you know, but whose faces are unknown. Of course, we could have set up contacts before the show or used IM to find each other, but I just wasn't that prepared and didn't think ahead. This was unlike any other conference or convention I'd attended.

I can't wait for next year's conference, though. I thought this was very well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoy your blog and I'll be back to read more.

By the way, I'm unfocused, too. :-)
