It's not about money or even misaligned interests, as you hepfully suggest. It's more like a sick, subsexual thrill, an attempt to fill a negative void with something very unshapely and unwholesome. "Bonfire of the Vanities" seems like a comic book compared to this numbing numskull. I'm all for making money but this story just made my heart sink to my knees. Worse than Enron.
