The remaining fosters are thriving and in the middle of a growth spurt. Kiki may even be ready to go back to the SPCA in less than a week, she's gaining weight so fast. Kitnip's health is not 100% but she seems to be recovering, albeit more slowly than we would like.

This morning we took Kiki and Kitnip back to the SPCA for spaying & adopting out. It was hard to let them go after all the stress and trauma we went through, but I know they will both find good homes. Pansy and Marcy did.

Down in Palo Alto, visiting friends for the 4th, I managed to snag a shot of their pet cat Valeria, who started life as a feral kitten and is now one of the cats that make up their household. She's still pretty skittish of strangers, so getting her to sit still for a photo took some time and patience.

Life in the fog belt of San Francisco ... a lovely summer day, and yet here, it's not.

Mason hit 2 pounds today. We took him back to the SPCA to be neutered and adopted out. Since he is a gorgeous fluffy tabby, he should be out of there in just a few days. Aaron is still with us; he's not big enough to go back yet.

New foster kitty, Marcus. He is a very undersocialized mix-breed, about 5 or 6 weeks old.

This is our other new foster, Arizona. She likes my laptop; probably because it's warm!

Local gas prices are up about 20 cents a gallon in the last 48 hours.

Gimi and Marcus hang out on our bed. Aaron has gone back to the SPCA and Marcus, now our only foster, has decided he hates being alone in his cage. We're keeping him out as much as possible.

Mabel has gone back to the SPCA and we hope she will be adopted out quickly. Marcus (soon to be renamed Bear) is remaining with us pending our permamant adoption of him.

Woot! All finals are taken, all papers handed in. Time to relax and blow off some steam!

I caught this shot of the boys as I was heading out the door to class this afternoon. There's nothing particularly unique or special about this moment; just two sweet kitties enjoying each other's company.

Sorry for the blurry shot. We spotted this sweet white calico wandering around in the courtyard of our building this afternoon; apparently she's been hanging out there for at least a day, if not more. She was clean and very social, and was wearing an obviously homemade beaded collar, but no ID tag. We fed her and then brought her down the the local shelter, where we discovered she was not microchipped. She's at the Peninsula SPCA for a 4-day stray hold, and we're hoping her owners will find her there.

Even if her family doesn't find her, I'm quite sure she'll get adpoted, because she's young, cute, and social. But her original family may never see her again, and some poor kid, who made this kitty's collar, is going to wonder where kitty went and never know for sure what happened to her.

While we were out for a walk, we spotted some Jamba folks out offering free samples in San Mateo this afternoon. They were kind enough to let me snap a photo even though we were carrying Starbucks drinks.

Seriously, who thinks this stuff up?

My employer launched a new product at midnight last night. As a result, I've been alternating between working furiously and sucking down quantities of coffee, as this photo illustrates.

I'm beat.
