Nothing busts up a morning quite like discovering that your less-than-six-months-old Melitta coffeemaker has given up the ghost.
I suppose that’s what you get when you buy discontinued merchandise from Woot!, but the other stuff I’ve gotten there hasn’t had problems, so maybe it’s just bad luck.
I had some vague plans of heading over to a car dealership and starting the long process of looking for a new car, but instead a trip to buy a new coffeemaker is definitely in order. Yes, the coffeemaker has a warrantee, but I don’t want to wait several weeks to get it repaired. I want a coffeemaker now.
Oh, that just hurts…
And on a Monday?!?
I don’t think I could have written about this, even after the fact, without going ballistic. Old school Marine Corps drill instructor ballistic. Perhaps even vector-of-a-three-ton-meteor-crossing-the-atmospheric-boundary ballistic.
You are way too calm without a morning cuppa…
Sorry to hear your coffee machine broke.
“… I don’t want to wait several weeks to get it repaired. I want a coffeemaker now.”
😀 I like the instant gratification thing you got going on there. 😉
Like the new blog look, btw. Very Catcher in the Rye. 🙂
A new Braun coffeemaker is now sitting in the Melitta’s place. We’ll see how it works out.
Off Colfax: We have an ancient, decrepit machine sitting on a back shelf for just these emergencies. So I wasn’t completely caffeine-less, just not very happy about it.
Melinda: Thanks! I’m still not finalized on the template, but this will do for now.
What constitues “broke” ? I have had mineral deposits cake on the heating elements of coffeemakers. A vinegar rinse or similar helps that sort of thing.
