Why can't Democrats get "flip flopper" to stick against Republicans?
I was reading a transcript of the Santorum / Stephanopolis interview today and started to wonder. After all, here's a classic example of inconsistancy in a position. On the one hand, Senator Santorum says:
I believe my view is the view that’s held by most Americans, which means we need strong families and strong communities, and we don’t need government really dissembling those institutions.
On the other hand, he also would support a consitutional amendment banning abortion. Birth control is about as personal a family issue as it gets, and yet this man is willing to have the government control that aspect of your family life. It's a massive inconsistancy and yet nobody calls it that.
Just wondering.
Now back to the transcripts, since I cen't get my butt out of bed early enough on Sunday to watch this stuff live. *sigh* One of the not-so-good things about living on the West Coast.

That's funny! My dad used to tape the Sunday a.m. shows. I remember when I moved east I was amazed that I could watch them and get up at a decent hour!
Why don't you tivo them?
As for me, I'm fed up with mainstream journamism for the reason you site. Nothing sticks on the right. Those conservative sure have their talking points down cold. I was listening to The Newshour during the Karl Rove scandal week and the conservative they had on there sounded ridiculous if you knew any facts and had been following the story, but he sounded so polished. If you had a slightly right leaning bias, you would have gobbled his explanations up, especially compared to the "liberal" who was so astonished by the tall tales being told that he could barely respond.
And I gave up on Tim Russert after he was so rude to Howard Dean so early in Dean's campaign. That was unforgivable.

Here's a stumbling block, Rachel. While I strongly agree with the need for safe medical abortion where necessary, I just can't agree that birth control falls in that category.
