Tungsten C: Still No Resolution

Well, I broke my Tungsten C some three months ago and I still haven't decided whether to get the damn thing fixed or not. With 2006 fast approaching, I need to finally make a decision, because if I do go back to paper, now is the time to go buy a planner.

Scott found a link to a highly-rated guy on eBay who apparently repairs Palm PDAs for less than what it would cost to send the Tungsten back to PalmOne for a repair. I'm thinking about it.

I'm also thinking that since I survived all semester without a PDA, I probably don't really need one. I miss the games and being able to read e-books a bit, but the ability to do those things is not really worth $75-$125 to me right now. Especially when I can get a perfectly good 2006 Day-Timer for under $25.

Someone with psychology training might point out to me that not making a decision is also a decision, and that's quite true. In essence, by going three months without my PDA, my decision has already been made. I just need to admit it and move on.

Not that my opinion means anything, but a Day-Timer or filofax sounds just a good. Plus the fun of writing. (Or have I just aired a quirky aspect of myself?)

God, I hated it when they told me that...! Really put my back up. I'm paying you and this is the best you can come up with?

But I guess they're right.

Still.

Rachael,

I feel for you... really. I killed my Treo 650 last week. I feel naked without my beloved Treo. Go ahead and get another good PalmOS handheld. Or, get a Tablet PC and a lower end Palm. The cost is, IMHO, worth it. They are fantastic, and work well at school. I don't lug notebooks around any longer! :-)

Gotta love it. The e-toys are dropping like flies, but dare we do without them?

Here's a tip, tho'- stopping carrying the textbooks around. It's not the notebooks that kill you.

In fact, the money you save by doing readings at the reserve desk will more than pay for another e-toy.

Well, I hit Staples and got a cute little 2006 planner for $10. So if I do decide to get the Tungsten fixed I won't have wasted much cash.

It feels odd, carrying around a paper planner for the first time in 8+ years.
