Per Shakespeare's Sister:
Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney: “The court focused on adult rights—they said if heterosexual couples can marry, then to have equal rights homosexuals have to also be able to marry. That court's mistake was they should have focused on the rights of children—because marriage is primarily about the development and nurturing of children.”
I'd really like to see someone ask Romney if that means he'd require fertility testing before issuance of a mariage license. What about automatic termination of the license after 7 years if the marriage is still childless? After all, we can't have people thinking marriage is about a LIFETIME COMMITTMENT TO THE PERSON YOU LOVE. Think about the children!

I wonder if people in the Republican Party would support stricter divorce laws, as marriage is primarily about the nurturing of children? After all, who cares if the parents are miserable, just as long as the children grow up well.
[DISCLAIMER: My direct family has gone through 5 divorces in the last two generaltions. And I'm an only child. Think about it.]

Mitt Romney is a Mor(m)on. I love how religious fundamentalists pick and choose whatever they want from their religious beliefs and dogma when it suits their purposes. Show me anywhere in the bible where it says that marriage is all about the children. It doesn't. The only time marriage comes up is to mention the union between a man and a woman. That's it.

Seeing as the Government taxes us extra for being married and not having children, I say we should encourage gays to marry.

So instead of preventing them from getting married, the gubbamint can turn around and tax gay couples, making even MORE money! Brilliant!
